Eleven of Sydney FC’s first team squad will join captain Alex Brosque in supporting Movember over the next month by growing mos to raise awareness of men’s health issues.
Rhyan Grant, Terry Antonis, Matt Jurman, Corey Gameiro, Nick Carle, Ivan Necevski, Alex Gersbach, Hagi Gligor, Christopher Naumoff, Peter Triantis and Anthony Bouzanis have all shaved today as they prepare for a month without a razor and some growth on their top lip.
Members and fans should see some fresh faces tomorrow during the clash with the Central Coast Mariners at Allianz Stadium (5pm), as the boys raise money for the Movember cause and beyondblue, one of Sydney FC’s charitable partners.
“I can get a good one in a few days, so it won’t take me long,” said club captain Brosque.
“I think the club has been supporting it for a few years now and it’s a good cause obviously raising awareness for men’s health issues.
“It’s fantastic to be a part of it and also it’s a good excuse to get some pretty crazy moustaches.
“I think Pete Triantis might be able to grow a good one but Terry’s (Antonis) might take a month to grow so I don’t know how much we’ll get out of him!”
To sponsor the boys, please head to Sydney FC’s Movember page.
Alex Brosque is Sydney FC’s Ambassador for beyondblue, the organisation which works to increase awareness and understanding of anxiety and depression in Australia and supports Movember.
