Sydney FC’s Academy Training Program helps improve and develop players and also offers a key opportunity for our coaches to scout and select talent for our U13 Academy squad in 2027.
Current Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s player Joe Lacey became the first former student of the Academy Training Program to gain a professional contract.

The 2025/26 program is open for applications in mid August from talented players in the age groups of U12’s (2014 born), U11’s (2015 born) and U10’s (2016 born), who are currently part of JDL or Development squads at their local association or NPL club for the 2026 season.
WHAT IS ATP?
ACADEMY TRAINING PROGRAM KEY TO A-LEAGUE STARDOM
The development program provides opportunities for selected talented players to train under the Sydney FC Youth philosophy.
The program is run at the following location every Sunday:
- Sky Park, Sydney FC Centre of Excellence, Macquarie University Playing Fields (Synthetic Fields)
It is run by coaches who work at the Sydney FC Academy, or have previously worked at the Academy, and follows a curriculum based on the behaviours and actions taught at our Academy to maximise development of players of this age.
The program runs from Term 4 2025 through to the end of Term 3 2026 and is capped to a maximum number of players.

The Sydney FC High Performance Camp offers boys elite training based on the club’s Youth Academy philosophy over two days at Sky Park.
Players receive expert coaching, video analysis, a strength and conditioning workshop, an individual report card, and insights from A-League staff.
The camp also serves as a talent pathway for future Sydney FC opportunities.
Sydney FC also has a Female Training Program available for U11-13 year old girls.
Sydney FC’s Female Training Program (FTP) bridges the gap between grassroots and professional football, offering talented young female players the chance to develop under the club’s elite Youth philosophy.
