Sydney FC has been running a Academy Training Program for four years and is one of the best scouting and training mechanisms the club employs to select future Academy squads from U13.
The 2021/22 program is open to talented 10, 11, 12 year old boys, and 12, 13, 14 year old girls who are currently part of SAP, GSAP or Development squads at their local association or NPL club.
The year-long program is run as a development program across 40 weeks, with opportunities for selected talented players to train under the Sydney FC Youth philosophy.
The program is run at two locations weekly:
- Macquarie Park (Macquarie University Sports Field)
- Kareela (Bates Drive, Kareela Synthetic Field)
It is run by coaches who work or have worked within the Sydney FC Academy, and follows a curriculum based on the exercises used with our Academy to maximise development in players of this age.
This year Sydney FC is proud to expand our female Academy Training Program, allowing females to train for a full year within our network before the selection of our inaugural Female Academy squads in 2022.
The program runs from Term 4 through to Term 3 and is capped to a maximum number of players.
