Sydney FC is delighted to congratulate midfielder Bianca Gittany (nee Galic) and her husband Thomas on the wonderful news they are expecting their first child.
Gittany, who married Thomas earlier this year, will miss the upcoming 2026-27 A-League season but will remain closely involved with the Sky Blues throughout the campaign.
The 27-year-old joined Sydney FC last season and will continue to play an important role within Head Coach James Slaveski’s squad, using her experience to support and mentor the club’s younger players.

Gittany said she and Thomas were thrilled by the news.
“We’re absolutely delighted and really excited about what lies ahead for us as a family,” she said.
“Obviously I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to play this season, but I’m looking forward to staying heavily involved with the team and contributing in a different way.
“We have a really exciting group, particularly some fantastic young players, and I’m looking forward to using my experience to help and mentor them wherever I can.”
Sydney FC Women’s Head Coach James Slaveski said Gittany would remain an important member of the squad.
“We’re all extremely happy for Bianca and Thomas and wish them every happiness as they prepare to welcome their first child,” he said.
“While we’ll miss Bianca on the pitch this season, she has a lot to offer this group through her experience, professionalism and understanding of the game.
“She’ll remain an important part of our environment and I know our younger players in particular will benefit from having her around the squad.”
Gittany will continue to work with Sydney FC’s coaching staff throughout the season and remain involved with the A-League Women’s squad.
