Female Training Program

Sydney FC’s Female Training Program (FTP) was created to develop and improve young female footballers and this pathway provides a link between grassroots football and the professional game, closing the gap on the current lack of opportunities for girls to transition from one to the other.

The program provides opportunities for selected talented players to train under the Sydney FC Youth philosophy.

Applications for the 2026/27 program will be opening shortly. This program is for talented female players in the age groups of U13 (2014), U12 (2015), U11 (2016) who are currently part of GJDL or Development squads at their local association or NPL club.

6 FTP players from the 2025/26 program have been invited to train with the Female Development Squad for the 2026/27 season.

The program runs from Term 4 2026 through to the end of Term 3 2027 and is capped to a maximum number of players. Contact our Academy team for any enquiries atp@sydneyfc.com

In the program’s first year of operation, it has already seen players progress into the Female Development Squad.

It is run by coaches who work at the Sydney FC Academy, or have previously worked at the Academy and follows a curriculum based on the actions and behaviours taught at our Academy to maximize development of players of this age.
