Sarah Hunter Buys 185 Grand Final Tickets

Sydney FC midfielder Sarah Hunter is ensuring the Sky Blues will be well supported in Sunday’s A-League Women Grand Final against Melbourne Victory having bought 185 tickets for her friends and family.

The former Sydney FC Member has snapped up the tickets for her extended family and school friends with a bumper crowd expected at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium for the 4pm kick off.

She even has family coming from overseas.

“I have quite a big family, and lots of aunties and uncles who are all coming,” she said.

“They’re mostly all Sydney based, but I’ve one auntie and uncle who just flew in from London.

“Their move wasn’t specifically for the game, they are just moving back here, but it will be great to have them along.”

Hunter will also be supported by a large crowd of school friends from Pymble Ladies College on ‘Hunter’s Hill’.

“I’ve got around 50 or so coming from my school year and from other year groups too.

“Everyone is really hyped up and I’m looking forward to a good turnout.

“It’s definitely the most amount of people I’ve had supporting me at a game.  I usually have around 20 family and friends with different people coming at different times.”

Sarah Hunter (at the back) is about to head home Sydney FC’s crucial third goal in the semi-final win over Melbourne City.

With such a high amount of tickets one might expect an organizational nightmare, however Sarah says it has been pretty smooth.

“We have a Facebook event so it has been quite easy to organize and the A-League are sending out the tickets to everyone.

“I think everyone is really excited.  We want to have a great turnout and if my family and friends can help create a good atmosphere then even better.

“It will be very Sydney based in terms of fanbase and support but the Melbourne Victory fans are quite intense so I’m sure they will bring a few and make it into a good atmosphere.”

Champions Victory came through last night’s semi final against Melbourne City securing a 3-1 win at AAMI Park to set up a rematch of last season’s Grand Final.
