Opposition Profile: Bayswater City SC

We have been drawn against Bayswater City SC in the Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32.

Learn a little bit more about our opponents when we meet this July (match details TBC).

History

Founded in 1961 as Bayswater Sports Club, Bayswater City SC has grown into one of Western Australia’s most successful football clubs. After climbing through the state league ranks during the 1960s and 1970s, the club established itself as a top-flight contender, winning the Night Series title in 1987 and becoming a regular force in WA football.

Since adopting the Bayswater City name in 1995, the club has enjoyed its most successful era, winning multiple NPL WA championships and cup titles throughout the 2010s. Their standout season came in 2014 when they claimed every major state trophy and qualified for the inaugural FFA Cup, cementing their status as one of WA’s most decorated clubs.

On the way to the Round of 32 they beat Murdoch University Melville, Joondalup City FC & Daniella White Eagles before a top of the table clash against Red Star.

They return to the national stage of the competition for the first time since 2019 when they fell to Olympic FC and for only the third time in their history after losing to Melbourne Victory at the Round of 32 stage in the inaugural FFA Cup 2-1.

They play their football out of Frank Drago Reserve which can host approximately 5,000 people with one main grandstand for their NPL clashes however when they hosted Victory in the 2014 edition they did so at the Western Australia Athletics Track.
