Dos Santos excited for unique evening of football

Indiana Dos Santos chats ahead of the clash with her sister

Indiana Dos Santos will have a very unique opportunity this week when she comes up against her older sister Jynaya when Canberra United visit Leichhardt Oval.

Jynaya previously called Sydney FC home and the sisters have taken home a Premiership and Championship in their time there however she joined United at the start of the season and this provides the perfect opportunity for an incredible match up.

“I think this is going to be a great night.

“Hopefully we can flip the season around from there and start winning some games and it’ll be good if we win it against her,” Indiana said.

“She’s really excited as am I and I guess we will see what happens.”

Dos Santos sisters with the Championship trophy in Melbourne last season

Sydney FC haven’t hit the heights of last season and currently sit with just the one win to their name however since the turn of the year they have gone undefeated.

Despite all the noise from outside, Indiana revealed that they aren’t letting that pressure get to them.

“We just need to stay calm and do what we do.

“Once we start executing up top and start finishing, everything will hopefully fall into place and once we start winning, I think we’ll get that flow again,” she continued.

Sydney FC Women have found the going tough this season

“We just have to keep our head down because anything can happen so we just have to be positive and and keep going.”

Sydney FC have made a habit of making Leichhardt Oval a tough place to visit for opposing teams and on Wednesday night, Dos Santos is looking forward to having those Sky Blue fans on their side in a tricky encounter.

“I really love playing at Leichhardt as the fans are super helpful and cheering us on and it feels like a massive family where everyone is behind you.

“We just need to stay positive for these two matches [Central Coast at Leichhardt on Sunday] and keep working hard and sticking together.

“Everyone knows we’ve gotta get the job done so everyone is focused this week and you can see that in training,” Dos Santos concluded.
