Hey guys, good to speak with everyone who joined in the Members and fan chat on Wednesday night, it was good to be answering your questions and to hear from so many people.

This week for my Captain’s column I’m going to list the three favourite games in my career and look back on what they meant to me.

Socceroos 2-3 Holland – World Cup Group Stage 2014

This game stood out because we played well and were winning the game at one stage against a team who had just spanked the current World Champions Spain 5-1 in the first group game.

To go 2-1 up against them was a fantastic experience because of their line-up.  We didn’t hold onto the lead but no one expected us to trouble them after they had trounced Spain.

Overall experiencing a World Cup, walking out hearing the FIFA song being played and singing the national anthem was a moment when you pinch yourself and was really special.

Sydney FC (4 pens) 1-1 AET (2 pens) Melbourne Victory – Hyundai A-League Grand Final 2017

The 2017 Grand Final win was special because it was my first Grand Final win; I’d lost three with the Mariners prior so it was great to finally win one.

It was also the fact we’d had such an unbelievable season leading up to the Grand Final and broken many Hyundai A-League records. To be able to finish it off the right way was fantastic.

It would have taken a lot of gloss off the season if we’d had lost.

Sydney FC 2-1 Adelaide United – Westfield FFA Cup Final 2017

The FFA Cup win in 2017 was also a milestone for me. I hadn’t won an FFA Cup Final before, I’d made the Cup Final in Korea but we lost on penalties, so to be able to win my first cup with Sydney FC was amazing.

It meant at the time that we held all three domestic trophies, the Championship, the Premiership and the FFA Cup which is something pretty special so that was another highlight.
