Vine and Whyman named in Matildas provisional squad

Two Sydney FC players and a number of former, have been named in the provisional squad for the Matildas.

Congratulations to Jada Whyman and Cortnee Vine who have been named by Tony Gustavsson as he prepares for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

From this list of 29 players, 23 will be chosen to compete at next month’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, held right here in Australia.

The opening match of the tournament will be held in Sydney and we hope that Cortnee Vine and Jada Whyman, both named in the squad will feature that evening.

Vine and Whyman were both in England for the most recent Matildas camp which saw them beat England at the Brentford Community Stadium in a result that shocked the world.

Both Sydney FC stars come off the back of a brilliant season under Ante Juric where they won the double, lifting the Premiers Plate and Liberty A-League Championship trophy.

It was a brilliant season for the Sydney FC Women

We can’t wait to see them both in action wearing the Green and Gold.
