Sydney FC defender Seb Ryall is reflecting on the positives of Saturday night-s derby defeat to the Wanderers insisting the manner of the Sky Blue-s performance will see them through future games with ease.

The Sky Blues spent the majority of the game in the Wanderers half of the field, forcing the Western Sydney backline into over 17 clearances and Ante Covic into four saves, and Ryall believes should Sydney FC carry on this form then more points will surely be won.

“We-re disappointed losing the derby but I think in terms of the performance it was a lot better than the last couple of weeks,” Ryall said.

“We know where we can do better and we have to take our chances but like I-ve said before the league is so tight.

“Brisbane is the best team at the moment and I think but everyone else is on a level par.”

The Sky Blues take on the Central Coast Mariners this Saturday at Allianz Stadium (kick off 7:45pm) and Ryall has vowed the Sky Blues will ramp up their efforts this week in order to stop the concession of goals.

“We-ve conceded goals and we-re going to be hard on ourselves,” Ryall said.

“We want to be pushing for top spot if we can.

“It-s a bit disappointing that we keep conceding goals but there is plenty of football left in this league to grab points and we-re just staying positive at the moment.”
