Provider NEC will also offer latest biometric customer experience technologies, allowing express check in and entry using facial recognition systems, personal registration, to assist wayfinding and provide enhanced safety and security.

It has been touted as a game changer to surpass any current stadium digital offerings in Australia, and Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend said he was looking forward to the new in-game experience.

“These new digital offerings in the new Sydney Football Stadium will bring a whole new level of engagement to Sydney FC matches,” he said.

“With 1,500 screens throughout the stadium, and sightlines from concourse level, there won’t be a single minute of match action missed by our Members and fans.

“It’s really exciting to see our new home coming together and with more technological and structural news on the way, we’re all eagerly counting down until the Stadium opens next year.”

Venues NSW CEO Kerrie Mather said the new SFS would redefine the live spectator experience when it opens.

“In 2014, the SCG was the first venue in Australia to provide free wi-fi to stadium patrons, as well as a vast IPTV network.

“When the SFS opens next year, it will be a whole new ball game thanks to NEC’s innovative technologies that will complement the best in-stadium experience Australia has ever seen.”

The new Sydney Football Stadium will have an expected capacity of 42,500 seats and is slated to open in mid to late 2022.
