Sydney FC has signed English Women’s Super League Champion and FA Cup winning striker Millie Farrow on a one-year contract for next season’s Liberty A-League.
Farrow has a wealth of top-flight experience in England having been part of the squad which won the double with English giants Chelsea, while she has also represented Crystal Palace, Reading, and Bristol City.
She has also been capped by England at under 23 level and more recently helped Leicester City secure promotion from the Championship.
The 28-year-old had a stint at the NWSL’s most successful club North Carolina Courage before moving to Perth Glory last season where she was the club’s top scorer, which included a hat-trick against Premiers Melbourne City.
“Sydney FC are the benchmark each season and it’s an honour to be joining Australia’s most successful club,” she said.
“I’m excited to play with the Championship winners and determined to help this club defend its title and reach an eighth consecutive Grand Final.
“They have some excellent players and a winning culture, and I hope I can score the goals to help them extend their incredible record.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
Head Coach Ante Juric believes Farrow can be a star of the A-League next season.
“Millie is a livewire forward who has all the attributes to score a lot of goals for Sydney FC,” he said.
“She is a winner and I know she will fit into our squad extremely well.
“I’m looking forward to seeing her imprint herself onto the league in a big way.”
Farrow released her own book ‘Brave Enough Not To Quit’ last year which details her struggles with injuries and mental health and how she found inspiration to overcome the challenges.
It reveals how she fought back from rock bottom and found strength in adversity, in a subject which is close to her heart.
