Sydney FC have confirmed the squad numbers to accompany the club’s new jerseys for the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Ninja A-League Women seasons.
Oriola Sunday will take over the number nine shirt for the A-League campaign after Victor Campuzano suffered an ACL injury which is expected to rule him out for the season.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the Sky Blues on a season-long loan in August, has worn number 90 during Sydney FC’s Hahn Australia Cup campaign.
Several of Patrick Kisnorbo’s other new arrivals have also received their first Sydney FC squad numbers.
Former Manchester United Academy right-back James Overy will wear number two, while Japanese star Takahiro Sekine takes the number 14 shirt famously worn by Sydney FC Hall of Famer and record goalscorer Alex Brosque.
Returning Academy graduate Jake Hollman has been handed number 15, a shirt synonymous with another club legend in Terry McFlynn.
Gabriel Popovic will wear number 16 following his return to his childhood city, with Ethan Dyer taking 28.
There has also been a significant change for exciting young attacker Akol Akon, who moves from number 44 to seven after an impressive breakthrough campaign.
Young Sky Blues Gus Hoefsloot, Aaron Gurd and Jordan Courtney-Perkins will wear numbers one, three and four respectively, while Wataru Kamijo has been assigned number eight and young goalkeeper Sandy Zaverdinos number 30.
In the Ninja A-League Women squad, American forward Faith Webber will wear number two after arriving from NWSL club Denver Summit FC, having spent time on loan with Tampa Bay Sun.
Fellow American recruits Kiley Dulaney and Kenzie Roling have taken numbers 11 and 28, respectively. Dulaney arrives with professional experience at Washington Spirit and Dallas Trinity, while Roling joins following a successful collegiate career with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Experienced midfielder Amy Chessari will wear number 19 after crossing from Western Sydney Wanderers, and teenage striker Jada Taylor has been assigned number 22 after progressing from Sydney FC’s Female Development Squad.
Returning Matildas goalkeeper and Sydney FC record appearance holder Jada Whyman reclaims the number one shirt, while captain Nat Tobin will return in her familiar number 12.
Indiana Dos Santos is back in number 10 following her recovery from the ACL injury that kept her out last season.
Bianca Gittany, formerly Bianca Galic before getting married during the off-season, has moved from number 32 to eight. Riley Cohn, previously Riley Tanner, will retain number 13 after also marrying during the break.
Meanwhile new signings Sophie Aungle, Jada Taylor, Poppy Channing and Abbey Puckett will take numbers 20, 22, 27 and 33 respectively.
