Few people are looking forward to the Sky Blues clash against the Victory more than defender Seb Ryall as the Sydney FC right back eyes off halting the Victory’s undefeated streak.
Sydney FC take on Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 13 December, and with the Sky Blues being the only team the Victory haven’t scored against, Ryall is confident that the result will be a positive one.
“It’s always a good clash between these two clubs and I’m looking forward to it,” Ryall said.
“It’s always a big match against them, they’re doing really well this year and we’re going to be expecting a tough match.
“There are high expectations of both clubs and both clubs are going to be pushing and wanting to win the A-League this year,” he continued.
“From our perspective as Sydney FC players we want to be doing that so it’s going to be tough but I think we’ve got a good squad and we can do the job this weekend.”
Reflecting on their previous encounter this season, a nil all draw at Allianz Stadium, Ryall is expecting a totally different match with both teams at full strength on this occasion.
“It’s going to be a really high intensity match,” he said.
“They like to press and dominate possession and down there at their home it’s going to be a good atmosphere and good crowd. I think if we can play at our best no one can stop us.
“I think we were missing a couple of really important players from our team [last time] and we have good depth in our squad. There is going to be full strength teams out this weekend and it will be a big advantage for us.
“Everyone was expecting me to score last match,” he continued.
“I’m a defender and I’d love to put one in the goal but I’m not really expecting that.”
