Retre & Donachie Return In Sky Blue

Sydney FC stars Paulo Retre and James Donachie will return in Sky Blue for the Isuzu-Ute A-League 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.

29-year old midfielder Retre will enter his sixth season with the club having helped the Sky Blues to two Championships and two Premiers Plates since his arrival.

“I’ve had an incredible past five years at Sydney FC and I’m delighted to be extending that,” he said.

“We’ve won a lot in that time and made the Grand Final three times.

“This year with the new stadium and the backing of our incredible Members, it’s important we return to the top of the ladder and I’ve a huge desire to achieve this for our club.”

29-year old Donachie and is looking forward to playing at the new Allianz Stadium.

“It’s a really great group of boys here and I’m looking forward to getting started again,” said the double Championship winner.

“Last season was a really tough one to take but it’s made me more determined and hungry to get back to my best and help the club get to where it belongs.”

Head Coach Steve Corica welcomed both players back.

“Paulo and James give us great depth and competition for places and both have experience of winning trophies, so I’m delighted to have them back.

“It’s great to be back in pre-season training and with the four new additions we are targeting, I think we’ll have a very strong squad to start the season.”

The additions of Donachie and Retre take the Sky Blues squad to 20 players.
