Redmayne Makes A-Leagues All Stars Coach Selection

Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne has been included in the A-Leagues All Stars Coach Selection in preparation for their match against European giants FC Barcelona next Wednesday, 25 May.

Redmayne becomes the fourth current Sydney FC player to make the A-Leagues All Stars’ full extended 30-man squad announced in its entirety today, to be condensed into a shortlisted playing squad in the days to come.

Anthony Caceres, Rhyan Grant, and Milos Ninkovic are the three further Sydney FC representatives announced yesterday as part of the fan voted selections.

The 33-year-old keeper has been at the club since 2017, and made 48 saves in his 1,440 minutes played over 16 appearances for the Sky Blues in the 2021/2022 Isuzu Ute A-League Men’s season.

Redmayne joins Jamie Young of Western United FC and Filip Kurto of Macarthur FC as the currently selected goalkeepers, and looks forward to the prospect playing against FC Barcelona next Wednesday night.

“It’s a big game, it’s huge for Australian football in showcasing our talent and getting the name of the A-League out there.”

“It’s a great opportunity not only for us players as individuals but our game as a whole and the brand of the A-League as a whole.

“Bringing not just a global powerhouse in terms of football but a powerhouse in the sense of a worldwide iconic brand such as Barça is a good opportunity for a driver of future revenues and success of the game in Australia.”

The A-Leagues All Stars take on FC Barcelona at Accor Stadium in Sydney’s Olympic Park next Wednesday 25 May at 7:30pm, as part of FC Barcelona’s post-La-Liga-season world tour.
