Match Preview: Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory

The first big blue of the season is here as Sydney FC travel down to Melbourne to face rivals Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

Steve Corica’s side will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 loss to Perth Glory on Saturday night and Tuesday’s big clash is the perfect chance to bounce back.

Mustafa Amini could make his first start for Sydney FC since joining the club in the transfer window. The midfielder has featured off the bench a number of times in recent matches. Milos Ninkovic could start the match after he came on as a substitute against Perth.

Team news: Corica will be without some key players for the big game with trio Rhyan Grant, Joel King, and Andrew Redmayne in camp with the Socceroos for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

Tom Heward-Belle is expected to start in goal for Sydney FC while Harry Van der Saag and Connor O’Toole could feature in place of Rhyan Grant and Joel King.

For Victory, they sit on top of the ladder however they were held to a 1-1 draw in their last match which was back on January 8th when Nick D’Agostino’s strike was canceled out by Craig Goodwin’s to deny Melbourne the three points.
