Sydney FC’s Sebastian Ryall believes he primed and ready for the arrival of the newly rebranded Melbourne City, with David Villa and co., as the Sky Blues look to start the season off with a bang tonight.
While the Spanish import may be drawing all the limelight, Ryall says he’s looking forward to facing Villa and is confident all the hard work in preseason will pay off come kick off.
“We’re definitely ready,” Ryall said.
“We’ve done a lot of work in preseason and prepared ourselves well for this match. Like Arnie said it’s a team match and I don’t think one player is going to make the difference, we’re a strong team and we’re looking forward to the challenge.
“I’ve done months of preseason work to prepare for the match and I think every playing is ready for tomorrow night and can’t wait for it,” he continued.
“Every player wants to play against the best in their sport and that’s an opportunity I’m going to have tonight.
“To have players like Del Piero and Villa here that’s exactly what I want to be playing against.”
Ryall is looking forward to playing in front of a bumper crowd at Allianz Stadium tonight, with over 20,000 expected to file through the turnstiles, and he’s confident of repaying the Members and fans faith with a good performance on the pitch.
“Hopefully there is a big crowd,” he said.
“We’ve had such good support over the last couple of years and the Memberships are up this year so hopefully we can get a few fans there tonight.
“There’s always going to be pressure playing with Sydney FC,” he continued.
“We’ve got high expectations ourselves and the fans have high expectations of us so we just want to put in a good performance tomorrow to reflect all the hard work we’ve done in preseason.”
