Ibini Keen For Third Sydney Derby

After being involved in the first two Sydney Derbies, Sky Blues winger Bernie Ibini is eagerly anticipating the third instalment of the cross town rivalry on Saturday night.

There are few better stages to score your first goal for your new club and Ibini achieved just that with a sublime solo strike in our most recent encounter, a strike which he labels as his best goal he’s ever scored.

“I’m looking forward to it a lot,” Ibini said.

“Being involved with the first two this season they’ve been great matches to be involved in so I can’t wait for Saturday night.

“I have to say it’s definitely the best goal I’ve ever scored,” he continued.

“It was a great goal and my first goal for Sydney FC, so to get off the mark in a game like that was obviously very special.”

Ibini has likened the Sydney Derby to a Grand Final as he said the Sky Blues would be heading into the match high on confidence as they continue to remain undefeated in 2015.

“It’s massive, it’s definitely up there with the likes of a Grand Final and games like that,” he said.

“With the atmosphere and the way the fans go at each other it carries onto the field, you can see how much we want to win it, so it’s a very massive game.

“We’re pretty confident but it’s going to be a very tough game like last time,” he continued.

“It was 1-1 and very competitive and feisty as well, so we’re going to have to be on our top game to make sure we get the three points.”
