Sydney FC are hosting the Girls High Schools Cup at our Sky Park home as we celebrate Female Football Week.
Girls from Public, Private and Catholic schools from across Sydney will play for the Cortnee Vine and Nat Tobin trophies on Friday 10 May.
The tournament is split into two categories with girls in Year 7 & 8 competing for the Nat Tobin Cup while players in Year 9 & 10 will challenge for the Cortnee Vine Cup.
The inaugural event comes just days after Sydney FC secured a fifth Championship title with a 1-0 defeat of Melbourne City at AAMI Park.
The tournament takes part during Female Football Week, which is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football.
Sydney FC has been a strong advocate for women’s sport and currently runs a Female Football Pathway training program for aspiring players.
The Sky Blues also set up a Female Development Squad this season for girls aged between 14 and 16 with the intention of feeding talented players into our Liberty A-League Women’s side.
