FANS TO TAKE CENTRE STAGE AS SYDNEY FC CELEBRATE 100 HYUNDAI A-LEAGUE GAMES!

Sydney FC is on the lookout for its most loyal and dedicated fans to honour as part of the club-s 100 game celebration against the Central Coast Mariners, on Monday, October 5.

Were you in the stands when Dwight Yorke scored the club-s first goal against Melbourne Victory on August 28, 2005? Perhaps you have named a pet after one of the club-s stars or better still, had the Sky Blues- logo tattooed onto your arm. Sydney FC wants to hear from you!

Supporters that see the world in Sky Blue are encouraged to send photos and requests to marketing@sydneyfc.com where they will be verified by the club, with those deemed sincere to be honoured at the club-s 100th game against the Mariners on Monday, October 5.

The 100 game celebration is part of a ‘Let Us Entertain You– spectacular, which will feature Sydney FC-s Westfield W- League team in action for the first time this season, as well as a host of free activities aimed to keep football fans of all ages entertained!

Loads of family friendly entertainment has been planned to commence at midday. The Women-s League clash between Sydney and Central Coast will then kick off at 12:15pm – followed by the Sydney FC v Mariners Hyundai A-League match at 3pm.

Steve Corica, Terry McFlynn and Clint Bolton are the only surviving players from the club-s debut match against Melbourne Victory – a contest that still lives on in the heart of 2009/10 club captain Corica.

“Playing in that first game against Melbourne back in 2005 was one of the highlights of my career and it-s an absolute honour to still be playing for the club in its 100th game,” Corica said.

“I remember the noise coming from the stadium when Yorkey (Dwight Yorke) scored the first goal and I still get goose bumps thinking about lifting the trophy in year one.”

“Our fans have stayed loyal to the club through the ups and the downs and Monday-s presentation is a fitting way to celebrate the clubs 100th game,” Corica continued.

Sydney FC-s Women-s team is preparing to go one step further in season two following last year-s heartbreaking penalty shootout loss to Brisbane Roar in the Westfield W-League Semi Finals.

The 10-round competition will kick off on Monday, October 5, with Sydney to split its matches between the Sydney Football Stadium, Seymour Shaw Park and Leichhardt Oval this season.

Star Macarthur Rams- recruit, Leena Khamis will be looking to continue her goal scoring ways, which saw her net seven last season and claim the inaugural Golden Boot Award.

“We-ve had a great preparation leading into the Mariner’s game, and to be honest, I just can-t wait for the competition to begin,” said Khamis.

“We have recruited well in the off season, while maintaining the nucleus of last year-s team.

‘It was a heartbreaking way to go out last year, but that has only made us hungrier to succeed this season.”

Tickets for ‘Let Us Entertain You– are available now through Ticketek.

Supporters that have attended all of Sydney FC-s 98 Hyundai A-League fixtures thus far should contact marketing@sydneyfc.com URGENTLY to ensure they are a part of the club historic 100 game celebrations.
