Sydney FC superstar Alessandro Del Piero says he is happy with the choice he made to come down under ahead of Saturday-s visit of Wellington Phoenix to Allianz Stadium (5.30pm kick off).

The former Juventus great says he is enjoying his time with the Sky Blues and the hurdles it brings.

“I-m happy with my choice and I want to do my best and I-m happy to do this kind of challenge,” said the World Cup winner.

“Everything is new for me and that-s a complication sometime because when you change everything in your life you have to keep confidence with your new situation.”

The Sydney number 10 also believes the team-s situation will get better and his experience will help them through.

“For us now is not a perfect moment for the team but it-s ok because sometimes you have difficulty and you have to jump over, you have to fight against and win against the difficulty.

“That-s what I do all my life and what I do now, for sure.”

New signing Joel Griffiths set to make his debut and partner Del Piero up front, and the Italian maestro is looking forward to the combination.

“He-s been with us for three weeks now and he told me before he-s been counting down the days like he-s in jail,” he said. “But it-s happy for us because he is one man to help us for win.

“And with Tiago also coming it-s good because it gives the coach more options now.”

The temperatures are set to drop in time for tomorrow-s game but Sydney-s final training session took place in close to 40 degrees. However that doesn-t bother Sydney-s marquee signing.

“This is not a problem because it will be hot for us and hot for them. For sure it-s harder than usual but it-s ok,” he concluded.
