Sydney FC Complete A-League’s First Ever Premiership ‘Threepeat’

Sydney FC’s Liberty A-League Women’s squad have created history by winning a third consecutive Premiers Plate and in the process become the first team to lift silverware at the new Allianz Stadium. The Sky Blues women defeated Newcastle Jets this afternoon to move above Western United and lift the trophy on the final day of the regular season. Never in A-League Men's or Women's history has a Premiership 'threepeat' been achieved.

Sydney FC are one win away from securing a historic first Liberty A-League Premiership threepeat following a 4-2 win over Perth Glory at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. Indiana Dos Santos became the club’s youngest ever goal scorer with a first half opener before Perth equalised twice either side of a stunning Cortnee Vine strike. Despite some Perth pressure, the Sky Blues kept their nerve as Haley and Ibini scored in the last quarter to put the result beyond doubt and Sydney FC one point clear at the top.
