Sydney FC Westfield W-League Champion Ally Green was honoured at the rebel Female Football Awards on Friday, receiving the Role Model award for 2019.
The Sky Blues’ youngster received the award in recognition for her efforts as a player during the Sydney FC’s successful 2018/19 season, as well as her work off the field as the club’s Fan Engagement Coordinator during the 2017/18 off-season.
“It was a pleasant surprise to receive the award,” Green said.
“I’m grateful for the opportunities that the club has given me, to engage with the comunity with the way I did brought a different perspective to being a player and I’m glad I was able to represent Sydney FC the way I have and continue to do.
” I’m pretty stoked with the award.”
Green was nominated by the Sky Blues, with the award criteria being:
- Excellent role model on and off the pitch, who embodies what it takes to be a professional footballer.
- Influences the game beyond professional playing capacities, with a focus on community including presence in Schools, local Clubs.
- Encourages and supports the growth of female football at all levels within the community.
- Demonstrates good sportsmanship and attitude, promotes an inclusive environment.
