Sydney FC’s brand new home at Moore Park has reached another key juncture with the start of the installation of one of the key pieces architecture in the stadium’s roof.
The first pieces of the stadium’s diagrid have been lifted into place on the northern and southern stands.
The diagrid is part of the roof and is a framework of intersecting steel that removes the need for vertical columns.
Weighing up to 22 tonnes each, there are 32 different diagrid sections that need to be lifted into place.

The roof fabric is then placed on top.
The diagrid forms the overall shape of the roof, which will be a major design aspect of the stadium once completed.
