Young Sky Blues target nine against Newcastle

Sydney FC’s young-guns will look to make the Newcastle Jets the next victim of their campaign on Saturday afternoon when they take aim at their ninth-straight win in the next round of the National Youth League.

Sydney FC-s young-guns will look to make the Newcastle Jets the next victim of their campaign on Saturday afternoon when they take aim at their ninth-straight win in the next round of the National Youth League.

Steve O-Connor-s men sit seven points clear on top of the table but face an unfamiliar opponent in the fifth-placed Jets who know a boil-over against the pace-setters could lift them into the top-four.

Sydney has achieved its success to-date despite fielding thirty players over the opening eight games of the competition.

“With injuries and players getting called up the first team we-ve been forced to make a lot of changes but the boys have adapted well,” said coach, O-Connor. “It-s been hard to form combinations but we-ve been playing attractive football and I-m happy with how the season-s gone so far.”

Should the young Sky Blues claim another three-points on Saturday against Newcastle they-ll have one hand on the minor Premiership trophy with still half of the season remaining.

The National Youth League fixture kicks-off at Adamstown Oval at 5:00pm.
