Sydney FC-s Westfield W-League forward Leena Khamis believes the Sky Blues can defeat Brisbane Roar with the newly crowned world-s best player, Nadine Angerer , guarding the Roar-s net on Sunday at Sydney United Sports Centre, Edensor Park (kick off 3pm).

Angerer, who just this week was rubbing shoulders with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Ballon d-Or awards in Zurich, will grace Edensor Park-s astroturf surface on Sunday with Khamis hopeful Sydney can score against the German national team Captain and four time German Cup Winner.

“Nadine is an awesome keeper and congratulations to her,” Khamis said.

“Any team with a good goalkeeper makes it harder to score against but if we play like we have been playing lately then hopefully we can sneak one or two past her.”

The Sky Blue Ladies are currently undefeated in second and come up against the third place Roar in a match that will have serious repercussions about who qualifies for the playoffs.

“Every game this season is big but this one is just massive,” Khamis said.

“The table is really tight at the moment and every time it-s against Brisbane you never know which way it can go whether home or away.

“It-s a really good game because there is such a big rivalry between the two teams. It gives us confidence being undefeated but we try not to think about it and just take each game as it comes.”

The Sky Blues Ladies had a late change of venue to their original schedule however Khamis is confident that playing on unfamiliar territory won-t deter Sydney FC from performing at their peak and called on all the fans to travel out west and cheer the girls on.

“We haven-t played at Edensor Park before but we have been training well on astroturf throughout the season,” said Khamis.

“I think as far as the field goes we might actually be used to playing on that and it might actually suit us.

“I hope the fans come down and support our side like they have been. It was great to see some of the Cove boys there last week and we hope to see them again on Sunday.”

The Westfield W-League kick off at 3pm at Edensor Park in the first clash of Sunday-s double header. Sydney FC-s Foxtel National Youth League side, who are 10 points clear in first place, kick off at 5:45pm against the last place Central Coast Mariners.
