Football is nothing without its fans. And at Sydney FC, The Cove are the heartbeat of our club.
Following the Sydney Derby on 16 October, Sydney FC have worked closely with NSW Police, Venues NSW and stadium security to find a positive way forward.
Through open and constructive discussions, all parties have agreed on the importance of active support to football in this country, and all believe passionate, active support and a safe matchday experience must go hand in hand.
The Cove’s passion, loyalty, colour and noise are part of our identity. They make our home feel like a home and create the atmosphere that makes football so special.
Everyone is pleased with the progress that has been made and all share a commitment to stronger communication, mutual respect and clearer matchday processes between Sydney FC, The Cove, supporter marshals, NSW Police and stadium security, which will allow active support to thrive in a safe and welcoming environment.
Sydney FC thanks The Cove and its leadership for their support and constructive engagement which has been professional throughout this process, and acknowledges NSW Police and Venues NSW for their willingness to work towards a positive outcome moving forward.
The Cove thanks Sydney FC for listening to its Members, standing alongside its supporters and helping build a path forward.
The Cove looks forward to agreeing processes around active support that allow them to prove the atmosphere and spectacle that makes football in Australia unique.
We are one club. One community. And we are strongest when we stand together.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Allianz Stadium tomorrow night as Sydney FC takes on Central Coast Mariners.
Let’s bring the passion. Let’s bring the noise. Let’s make Allianz Stadium feel like home.
