This Father’s Day, Philips will showcase the contribution Australia’s sporting elite make to their families both on and off the field with the annual Philips Sports Dad of the Year Award.
In the Award’s sixth year, Sydney FC star and Australian Marquee Alex Brosque will fight for the Hyundai A-League as he looks to out-do Australia’s footballing codes to become Philips Sports Dad of the Year.
Brosque is Sydney FC’s leading goal scorer and the fourth highest all-time appearances maker for the club, helping the Sky Blues to the Premiership and Championship in the Hyundai A-League 2009/10 season.
Brosque is a firm fans favourite, becoming a cult hero with Sydney FC’s Members for his energy, work rate and crucial goals and away from the field is a loving husband and father of Christina, aged four, and Mila, aged one.
“Nothing gives you a greater sense of purpose and meaning in life than being a father,” Brosque said.
“Seeing the happiness and joy you, as a father, can give them is the best feeling in the world.
“All the stresses and feelings I get from football disappear the moment I walk through the door and see my girls.”
