Vine selected in Matildas Olympic team

Cortnee Vine has been named in the 18 player squad heading to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games.

It has always been a dream of Vine’s to go to the Olympics and she now will fulfil that dream when Tony Gustavsson’s side take on the best in the world.

The Australians have been drawn into a pool with former gold medallists USA and Germany along with Zambia.

The team will open their campaign the day before the Opening ceremony, 25 July, against Germany in Marseille before taking on Zambia on the 28th and the US on the 31st.

Vine celebrates during the A-League season

Vine came on as a half time substitute against China on Monday night and swung the contest in the Aussies’ favour and played a brilliant ball to Hayley Raso for the second goal.
