Vine ruled out with hamstring injury

Cortnee Vine has picked up a hamstring injury which has seen her ruled out for Wednesday night’s clash between Australia and Chinese Taipei.

Vine played 90 minutes for the Matildas in a 2-0 win over Iran on Thursday night and came off the bench on Sunday afternoon against the Philippines in front of a record crowd at Optus Stadium.

Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, she was only on the pitch for 10 minutes after coming on as a sub and was seen icing her hamstring after being removed shortly after.

News from Matildas camp has filtered through that she has suffered a hamstring injury and now returns to Sydney FC to continue her rehab.

Cortnee will now look to be back for the Liberty A-League match against Adelaide United on the 19th of November, with the turnaround for the AFC Women’s Club Championship too tight.

As a result, Cortnee will not make the journey to Uzbekistan for this invitation tournament, with the players departing this week.

We wish Cortnee all the best with her recovery and look forward to seeing her back on the pitch soon.
