Sydney FC-s Westfield W-League coach Alen Stajcic believes this weekend-s clash with Melbourne Victory at Allianz Stadium (kick off 2.15pm) could be the girls toughest game in many a year.

The Sky Blues returned from a long trip to Japan on Tuesday having played three games in a week and face a Victory side they beat 5-1 on the opening day of the season.

However the visitors have key players back for this game and the Head Coach believes physically and mentally this match in the double header will be their hardest.

“We trained on Wednesday night and were really extremely flat,” he said. “It was really hard to be picked up for the session after the trip and travel.

“We had to travel twice, it was 20 hours to get there, three hours on a bus, 14 hours of plane rides and three hours of waiting around and going from winter back to summer was difficult too.

“But this morning was brilliant so I think we-re a good chance.”

And having had chance to reflect on their 3rd placed finish in the International Women-s Club Championship, Stajcic is full of praise for his team.

“We got the experience, the full range of footballing abilities and styles as well so it was great,” he continued. “To beat a Japanese team who are World Champions is just unbelievable.

“The game we played on that first day was testament to how good a team we actually are, but we really should have won against Chelsea in the semi final.”

Watch this Sunday’s Double Header when Sydney FC’s Westfield W-League team head to Allianz Stadium, kick off at 2.15pm. Watch the girls against Melbourne Victory followed by the Hyundai A-League squad taking on Melbourne Heart at 5pm.
