Timekettle a gamechanger at Sydney FC

Sydney FC is flying at the top of the table after a brilliant start to the season.

However, internally, there is a unique piece of technology that is allowing foreign players to understand things even better when it comes to instructions during team meetings.

Timekettle is a cross-language communication device which has been used by companies across the globe in meetings and is brought into football for the very first time.

Football is a multicultural sport and Sydney FC is no different with players hailing from Australia, France, Spain, Peru, the US & the UK to name a few and with this comes the issue of a language barrier.

Timekettle eliminates this barrier with live translation using AI from one language into up to 43 others, understanding 96 accents. This is possible using two methods, either in team meetings or one on one conversations.

Ufuk Talay can deliver his speech in English and sitting listening in will be Piero Quispe who hasn’t fully grasped English from his native Peruvian Spanish, and while the Head Coach delivers tactics in the video analysis session, the explanation is translated into Quispe’s native tongue through an ear piece that he wears. If multiple players speak multiple languages, it can translate this into different languages by using an app on their phones.

It also works as a communicator with back and forth talks while both players or coaches wear an ear piece each and their words and translated back into languages that they understand easily. While this occurs, the translation also appears on the phone in both languages and can be read as a transcript of the conversation.

A live translation appears on the phone

As football is truly a global game, this could be a gamechanger for clubs who have to employ translators and now allows players to express themselves in their native tongue in team environments, understanding key instructions much better.
