Sydney FC’s Members, supporters and football fans will get the opportunity to see legendary Spanish striker and World Cup winner David Villa’s Hyundai A-League debut when tickets go on sale TODAY.

Graham Arnold’s men take on Melbourne City on Saturday 11 October in their opening Hyundai A-League match at Allianz Stadium (kick off 7.30pm), with the likes of Villa and former Premier League star Damien Duff set to arrive from City, while new Sydney FC signings Mark Janko, Bernie Ibini and Shane Smeltz could also make their Hyundai A-League debuts.

Sky Blues Members will get exclusive access to buy tickets for friends and family today for the Allianz Stadium tie, with a special Member code, while the tickets will go on sale to the general public from 9am on Friday 5th September via Ticketek.

All other games for Sydney FC’s season will go sale later this in month.

“We anticipate that the demand for this game will be huge, so we are giving our Members and supporters an extra couple of weeks to purchase,” said Sydney FC CEO Tony Pignata.

“With the new exciting arrivals at Sydney FC, including international marquee Marc Janko and returning Australian marquee Alex Brosque, plus David Villa playing his first Hyundai A-League game, we feel it’s important our fans get every opportunity to see the match.”

Sydney FC are preparing to set a new level for Membership figures this season, with the club already well in advance of sales from previous seasons. And Pignata believes the early on sale date will help supporters planning.

“Of course buying a Membership is the best way to guarantee your seat, but if you haven’t signed up then this is a good opportunity to ensure you don’t miss this landmark occasion.”

The game will also mark Sydney FC Head Coach Graham Arnold’s first Hyundai A-League game in charge.

“I’m expecting an excellent contest and a great atmosphere,” he said.  “It will be my first game in charge of the biggest challenge of my career. It should be a fantastic night and one not to be missed.”

The game kicks off at 7.30pm and tickets will be available from Ticketek from 9am on Wednesday morning for Sydney FC Members and any remaining will go on sale to the public at 9am on Friday.
