Today we’re looking at the defensive stats of Sydney FC youngster Joel King.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a standout season in Sky Blue, deputising for the injured Michael Zullo with aplomb, turning in a number of composed performances at left back in the Hyundai A-League and AFC Champions League.

King has played 18 games for the Sky Blues’ this season so far, accruing 1,301 minutes of action on the pitch.

The youngster has made a total of 52 clearances, 22 interceptions and six blocks, while also boasting a tackle success rate of 81% from his 22 attempted challenges.

King has also won 44 duels and 12 aerial duels while getting forward on the left flank, and currently holds an 82.6% passing accuracy.  

For his endeavours forward down the sideline, King has made a total of 39 crosses from open play and seven key passes as the young defender links up in attack with the Sky Blues’ attacking quartet.
