Today we’re looking at the solid defensive stats of star Westfield W-League centre back Alanna Kennedy.
Missing the first few games of the season through injury, Kennedy returned in Round 4 and quickly established herself as a dominating presence at the heart of the Sky Blues’ defence.
In defence, Kennedy was solid, playing 10 games in total in Season 2019/20.
The Westfield Matilda made 38 clearances, nine blocks and 23 interceptions, while also completing 85% of her attempted tackles.
Kennedy has won 52 of her duels and 20 of her aerial duels, with her height and strength a key asset in Head Coach Ante Juric’s backline.
In distribution, Kennedy as a 74.8% pass success rate, also playing one key pass and making two crosses from open play in rare forays forward out of defence.
