Sydney Gave Us A Tough Game Admits Perth Coach

Perth coach Ian Ferguson believes Sydney FC are still in the reckoning this season after giving his side a tough game at Campbelltown Stadium last night.

The Glory snatched a 1-1 draw in the dying minutes after a Mark Bridge strike had put Sydney in front just before half time.

“Sydney are a good side,” said Ferguson after the game. “They-re still there or thereabouts, you-ve seen how tight the league is.

“A couple of games could throw anybody right back up there. They-re a good side and we knew it would be a tough game for us and that-s what we got.”

Glory skipper Jacob Burns admitted it was a hard match to play in with temperatures rising above 30 degrees celsius in Campbelltown.

“Very trying conditions for both sides, it kind of took the edge of both teams I think. We both tried a little bit with the heat to control and move the ball, but I think it was a pretty fair result.”
