Sydney FC players celebrate Siemsen’s opening goal

Sydney FC’s Women have got their Liberty A-League season off to a winning start thanks to goals from Remy Siemsen, Cortnee Vine and Princess Ibini.

After a goalless first half Siemsen opened the scoring after a lovely flicked pass from Vine.

Ibini slotted home from close range just before the hour mark after a perfect cross from Vine.

And the attacker got on the scoresheet herself ten minutes later finishing off a flicked on corner.

The Jets had earlier made it 2-1 one but Vine’s third put the game beyond doubt.

What They Said: Ante Juric: “First half was a little worrying because we didn’t capitalise on our chances but I was really happy with the intensity which was phenomenal.

“They played for each other big time and to get three goals is nice.

On Cortnee Vine – “She would have been buzzing to play and she killed it last year up until her injury.

“I think she is fresh now and she was excellent again.”
