New Sydney FC frontman Patryk Klimala believes Sydney FC’s style of play will be the perfect conduit for his career and will give him the opportunity to be a success in Sky Blue.
The 26-year old former Polish Under 21 international says he is excited to get started with his new team-mates and their tactical system is one he is used to playing well in.
“I know the style of play, I played for Red Bull (New York) and the style is the same,” he said.
“We press a lot and I like this style of play as well as playing in behind the line which is also my game.
“Everybody expects goals from the strikers and I put the biggest pressure on myself and I’m the biggest hater on myself as well.
“It’s not like I came here with a big head and planning to chill out here, I came here for hard work, and to win everything that is possible.
Klimala had a successful two season spell at Red Bull recently scoring 14 goals and making 11 assists.
He is looking forward to helping to squad continue in that vain when the season kicks off against Eastern FC in the AFC Champions League 2 next Thursday night at Jubilee Stadium.
“Next week I’m ready to play, I played four or five games at my club in Poland (during pre-season) so I’m ready to play.
“It is exciting, I know what the plan for the team is having spoken to the Head Coach and I can see we have a strong team upfront as well as at the back with big guys, with strong quality.
“[The ACL2} It’s something new for me, I never did it before but I played big games in Europe.”
Klimala will wear the Sydney FC number nine shirt and has already begun training with his Sky Blues team mates.
