Sydney FC has thrown its support behind the 2011 Movember Campaign with players and staff growing moustaches throughout November to help raise funds and awareness for men-s health programs.

Movember is aimed at raising awareness to men-s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression. In 2010, more than $72 million was raised globally to increase awareness and support programs run by Beyond Blue (the national depression initiative), the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and the Movember Foundation.

Sydney FC players and staff have registered as a “Movember Team” and are calling on all fans to get behind them and donate funds by logging onto www.movember.com.au .

“Movember is a great initiative and everyone at Sydney FC is pleased to get behind the cause,” said Sydney FC Captain Terry McFlynn. “Men-s health issues are very important and particularly close to the males at Sydney FC, players and staff.

“It allows us to have some fun in and around the dressing room and club and help raise awareness for male depression and prostate cancer at the same time.”
