Sydney FC are proud to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Sydney FC and Canterbury District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA) for the first time.
CDSFA are one of seven key associations within Sydney FC’s footprint, and despite working together for a range of years, the MOU provides commitment and accountability from each party to a set of key focus areas to develop a stronger connection between grassroots players and Sydney FC.
The pillars of the MOU focus on working together across school’s participation programs, clinics, participant experience opportunities for local players, elite pathway opportunities for talented individuals within the association area and working together to secure content from all Sydney FC teams within the local area.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend was delighted that CDSFA are now one of our partnered associations in an official capacity.
“We understand that our community, and that of the inner west areas that CDSFA inhabit are imperative to our short term journey away from Sydney Football Stadium and our long term fanbase,” Townsend said.
“Our commitment to our community footprint will increase over the coming years and we are delighted to be able to do that in partnership with CDSFA.”
Ian Holmes, Chief Executive Officer from Canterbury District Soccer Football Association welcomed the formal relationship with Sydney FC stating “our game needs to build engagement between the base, being the junior and amateur players at a community level and Hyundai A-League Clubs.
“The formalisation of a range of activities to provide opportunities for this to occur is a fundamental step in the right direction. Community Football families in the inner west will have greater access to Sydney FC and this will present an opening for Sydney FC to build its supporter and fan base during the period of construction of its new modern, contemporary and world standard stadium.”
Both entities are already executing on the agreement with deliverables in the upcoming Season 2018/19.
