Sydney FC Sign Former Real Madrid And La Liga Striker Victor Campuzano

Sydney FC have completed the signing of 28-year old former Real Madrid and La Liga striker Víctor Campuzano on a two-year contract.

The left-footed centre forward arrives at the peak of his career and with a wealth of experience in Spanish football, boasting over 200 professional games.

The frontman has also featured in the Europa League, scoring five goals in just eight appearances for Spanish giants Espanyol.

It was Espanyol’s academy where Campuzano began to make his name before joining Real Madrid Castilla in 2016, later returning to Espanyol in 2018.

It was there he made his La Liga debut and impressed on the European stage.

More recently he represented Sporting Gijón and has also represented Spain at Under-19 level.

“I’m excited to be joining the Sky Blue family and take this beautiful challenge, Campuzano said.

Campuzano played over 100 games for Sporting Gijon.

Head Coach Ufuk Talay said Campuzano will make an immediate impact.

Barcelona-born Campuzano arrives in Sydney this week to join his new teammates for training ahead of the start of the new season in five weeks.
