Sydney FC have tied talented young midfielder Madeleine Caspers to a multi-year deal keeping the teenager in Sky Blue until the end of the Liberty A-League 2025-26 season.
Caspers made an impressive debut in Sky Blue during Sydney FC’s 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets earlier this season and looked equally impressive in subsequent games against Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar.
The new two-and-a-half-year deal begins next week meaning Caspers will be available for the visit of Newcastle Jets to Leichhardt Oval on January 21st.
“It has been a whirlwind few weeks for me having signed for Sydney FC and now to have my contract extended for another two years is a fantastic feeling,” said the 16-year-old.
“I have had so much support from the coaches, my team-mates and also our Members since I joined the squad and it has helped my transition immensely.
“I’ve really enjoyed being involved and playing my part in earning some crucial points and I am looking forward to playing as many minutes as possible in the second half of the season.”

Head Coach Ante Juric has been extremely impressed the Junior Matildas midfielder since stepping up to the Liberty A-League.
“Maddie has fitted into A-League Women’s football seamlessly and with great ease for a 16-year-old,” he said.
“Her excellent performances in games but also in training have forced us to give her a longer term contract.
“I think she has a great future in the game if she continues to work hard and improve and she can be a key player for Sydney FC for many years to come.”
Caspers mid-season contract change has led to an enforced playing hiatus as per FIFA regulations, which means she will miss Sunday’s Unite Round clash with Western United and next Wednesday’s catch-up game against Central Coast Mariners.

However, she will be available to face Newcastle Jets on January 21 st at Leichhardt Oval.
