Sydney FC Reach 2,000 A-League Women’s Memberships

Liberty A-League Champions Sydney FC has reached 2,000 Women’s Memberships for the first time in the club’s history, increasing the club’s previous best by more than 800%.

The ‘Double Winners’ initially targeted 1,000 Memberships this season however they have smashed that target and expect to record a Liberty A-League record crowd at this Saturday’s opening game against Western Sydney Wanderers at Allianz Stadium.

The Sky Blues have harnessed the momentum created by the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Adam Santo expects it to continue.

“We set our target and have smashed that number which is a fantastic achievement from our team,” he said.

“The country’s best female footballers play in the Liberty A-League and our 2,000 Members are in for a real treat this season.

“Women’s football is booming and set to grow even bigger, and there is still time to sign up.

“For anyone who enjoyed the World Cup fever please continue supporting football.”

Sydney FC’s Women’s Membership has increased by over 800%.

Sydney FC Members are joining in their droves and from far away places such as Norway, USA and Hong Kong as well as at home.

Including the Liberty A-League Pass which sees under 16 kids go free, Sydney FC are almost at 10,000 Women’s Members.

Sydney FC Captain Natalie Tobin can’t wait for the season to begin.

“It’s set to be a phenomenal year and a once in a generation chance for fans to get on board.

“We’d love to see as many people as possible at Allianz Stadium this Saturday for the biggest first match in many years.

“It’s going to be a thriller.”

The previous Liberty A-League record attendance came at last season’s Grand Final when Sydney FC beat Western United in front of 9,500 fans a CommBank Stadium.

Sydney FC are looking to become the first team in Liberty A-League history to achieve a back to back double by defending both their Premiership and Championship titles.

Fans can get behind the Sky Blues Double-winning Women for less than $11 a game with our Women’s Memberships.

Kids under 16 will go for free with the Liberty A-League Pass including entry to all Liberty A-League games around the country.
