Sydney FC Poised To Make Hyundai A-League History

Sydney FC Poised To Make Hyundai A-League History

Thursday night in Perth looms as an absolute must-see in the Hyundai A-League, with Sydney FC on the verge of writing history.

Sydney FC are just two points from being the first ever Hyundai A-League club to win back-to-back Premierships, following their record-breaking successes in season 2016/17 and continuation of their dominance this season.

Another Premiership win for the Sky Blues will see Sydney FC recorded as one of the most successful Hyundai A-League teams in history and firmly establish the club as the benchmark of the competition.

Ange Postecoglou’s Brisbane Roar went agonisingly close to the same feat in 2012, finishing two points behind Central Coast after hoisting the Premiership trophy a year earlier.

The reality of their season is starting to sink in.

“When you sit back and look at the reality, the reality is we’re eight points clear, scored 57 goals and conceded 20 I think that’s a pretty good season,” Sydney FC Head Coach Graham Arnold said after their late show 2-1 win over the Mariners on Saturday.

“After a couple of losses, these boys aren’t used to losing, I had a lot of work this week to clear the mess out of the boys’ brains and to focus them on the reality.”

Sydney FC travel to face Perth Glory away on Thursday 29 March (kick off 9:30pm AEDT). Tune in on Fox Sports 501 or join like-minded Sky Blues’ fans, back the squad, and watch us make history from our Official Home Away from Home at The Star, Sydney.
