HEYMAN GOAL – 4’ – Heyman shoots from outside of the box and the ball bounces into the bottom corner of the net.

JALE MISSES OPEN GOAL – 37’ – Heyman cuts the ball back from the byline and Jale unbelievably hits over from close range.

BADAWIYA GOAL – 53’ – Half time substitute Badawiya charges down goalkeeper Lincoln’s clearance and goes on to roll the ball into the empty Canberra net.

VINE SHOT SAVED – 66’ – Vine is put clear but Lincoln is equal to her shot and deflects it wide for a corner.

BRUSH GOAL – 87’ – A corner from the right is headed home by former Sky Blue Ellie Brush.

“We set our standards high and we didn’t live up to them today.

“Canberra have always been difficult to play away and they played well today, taking their chances which we didn’t do.

Match Report: Sydney FC have suffered a late defeat to Canberra United in warm conditions in the nation’s capital.

Michelle Heyman opened the scoring early on with a long range shot after Rachel Lowe had missed an early chance.

The Sky Blues had two calls for a penalty turned down and went into the break a goal down.

Badawiya pounced on a mistake from the Canberra keeper Lincoln early in the second half to level the scores and the Sky Blues pushed for a winner.

However they were dealt a sucker punch late on when Brush headed home from a corner.
