Sydney FC Expand Community Work With NWSF

Sydney FC is expanding the club’s already widespread community engagement work by joining up with North West Sydney Football (NWSF).

The partnership, which was signed this week, will ensure Sydney FC contribute and provide even more support for community football in the area which harbours the Sky Blues’ training ground at Macquarie University.

It’s the 8th local association partnership the club currently has with Sutherland Shire, St George, South Coast, Manly-Warringah, Northern Suburbs, Eastern Suburbs and Canterbury District Football Associations all working alongside Sydney FC in providing benefit to community football.

Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend said: “It’s fantastic we are able to expand our support for football in our heartland with this partnership.

“We’re expanding our base at Macquarie University very soon with the building of Sky Park, our new Centre of Excellence, and this will enable us to provide even more support to North West Sydney Football who are on our doorstep.

“We are looking forward to working with the people at NWSF and continuing to work hard to give the very best of our expertise to all of our associations.”

Sydney FC’s work with NWSF will include combined initiatives and coaching opportunities and benefits for the children and players in the association, as well as coach education, clear pathways to Sydney FC and will help with the conversion of participants to fans of the professional game.

NWSF Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Toivenen said: “Sydney FC has a huge and passionate following within our catchment area, so it was very important to confirm our ties with this fantastic club.

“We share the common vision of growing our great game, at all levels within our region, and signing this MOU simply confirms this intent.

“We will endeavour to continue to assist the conversion of our fantastic participation base into fans, while Sydney FC will look to help us drive participation through our member clubs.”

North West Sydney Football will also be offered Sydney FC match day partnership opportunities.
