Sydney FC has completed the signing of goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne on an 18 month contract.

The 27 year old shot-stopper joins the Sky Blues to link up again with Head Goalkeeping Coach John Crawley and current number 1 Danny Vukovic, whom he played under and with during a two year spell at the Central Coast Mariners.

Redmayne is the first Sydney FC signing of this transfer window.

“I’m delighted to be joining the leading club in the country and excited to be working with John Crawley and Danny Vukovic again, as well as Graham Arnold,” he said.

“Crawley is a fantastic coach I’ve been lucky enough to work with JC at NSWIS and Central Coast Mariners.  His successful track record of developing and maximising goalkeepers’ potential is second to none and I’m looking forward to working under him once again, to help elevate my game.

“It will be fantastic to play alongside Danny again who is having a great season and I know he and I will bring the best out of each other in competition for the number one spot.”

Redmayne will fit into the squad easily joining former team-mates in Sebastian Ryall (Young Socceroos and Olyroos), Rhyan Grant (AIS), Alex Wilkinson, Matt Simon and Andrew Clark.

Head Coach Graham Arnold believes Redmayne will provide real competition for the goalkeeper spot and help ensure the Sky Blues superb defensive start to the season continues.

“Andrew Redmayne has over 100 games in the Hyundai A-League and in national teams and will provide genuine competition to Danny Vukovic,” he said.

“He knows and works well with John Crawley who I’m sure will get the best out of him.

“He is a great addition to our squad and I look forward to working with him.”

Redmayne has won two Hyundai A-League titles, a Premier’s Plate and played in last year’s Grand Final.

He has also made over 30 appearances for Young Socceroos and Olyroos and goes straight into the squad to face the Central Coast Mariners this weekend.
