Ahead of Saturday’s massive third Sydney Derby of the season, Sky Blues Milos Dimitrijevic, Alex Mullen and Jacob Tratt took time out of their day to visit the wards of Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Fresh from training in the morning, the players spent an hour with the children in two wards, signing posters and taking photos while also joining in on the musical instruments during a musical therapy session in the adolescent ward.

With five games in 15 days on the horizon the players were happy to be out in the community, with Sydney FC midfielder Alex Mullen saying it was an afternoon well spent.

“I thought it was special, it puts things into perspective a bit,” Mullen said.

“The high point for me was singing and playing the instruments and just trying to put a smile on the kid’s faces.

“Football has a lot of ups and downs and through the downs if we can remember kids like this it puts everything into perspective.”

Sydney FC are next in action against the Western Sydney Wanderers in the third Sydney Derby of the season on Saturday 20 February at Allianz Stadium (kick off 7:30pm). Catch the game live on Fox Sports 4, listen live on ABC Grandstand or follow @SydneyFC on Twitter for updates.
