Sydney FC’s Sporting Schools Program has gone from strength to strength as each school term passes by in 2016.
Sydney FC is proud to run the Sporting Schools program on behalf of the FFA. The program is a government initiative designed to help schools increase children’s participation in sport, with Sydney FC running the program to registered schools.
Over the course of 2016, over 60 schools have participated in the program, with 5,300 students taking part. The schools visited range from all our associations in the Sydney metropolitan area to rural schools in towns such as Wagga Wagga, the Snowy Mountains and Cootamundra.
Sydney FC Community Football Manager Paul Reid expressed his delight at the uptake of the Sporting Schools Program by the involved schools.
“The Sydney FC Sporting Schools Program is a great way to stay active and hone your football skills,” he said.
“It’s pleasing to see so many students taking up the program and the results after a few weeks are definitely notable.
“The Sporting Schools Program is an enjoyable event and I encourage as many schools as possible to register.”
The Sporting Schools program lasts for 4-8 weeks, with each school receiving a football equipment pack and Sydney FC coaches for the duration of the program.
